More clarity around your time off

Whether you’re planning a few days away or keeping track of your team’s availability, the details matter. You need to know how much leave you have, which holidays apply to you, and who will be away.

We’ve made a set of improvements to bring more of that information together and give organizations more control over how leave is counted.

Your calendar, with more context

Your calendar now shows your leave information alongside your leave policy and upcoming national holidays. That means you can check the details you need while planning time off, without going back and forth between your calendar and dashboard.

We’ve also made it clearer which country’s public holidays you’re looking at. A flag appears next to the holiday information, with the country name available when you hover over it.

Prefer to see more than one week at a time? Cala now remembers your most recent calendar view, so you don’t have to select it again every time you return.

Understand your leave policy

We’ve updated how leave-policy information is displayed to make it easier to understand the rules that apply to you.

For example, if your organization has a waiting period before leave can be used, Cala now makes that status clearer. The aim is to help you understand your leave at a glance, without having to interpret the policy settings yourself.

Choose which days count as leave

Different teams work on different schedules. For some, a Saturday is a regular working day; for others, it’s part of the weekend.

Administrators can now choose whether Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are deducted from an employee’s leave balance. These settings give you more control over how Cala counts leave for your organization.

Manage your plan from Cala

If you manage your organization’s account, you can now review available plans and change your plan from the billing area. When your team grows, you can see the available options without leaving your current page to find the plans screen.
