RIGA, Latvia, 3 November 2026. Who’s off next week? For a team working across countries, the answer can be scattered across spreadsheets, chat messages and calendars that do not share the same public holidays.
Cala HQ, a time-off management tool from Riga-based JULY17 SIA, is built around that question. Employees request leave and check their balances. Managers review requests. A shared calendar shows upcoming absences alongside each person’s local public holidays, so the team can see the full picture in one place.
For people who live in their work calendars, Cala HQ has built integrations with Google Calendar and Outlook to add approved leave to a chosen calendar and keep it updated when plans change.
Consider a team split between Riga and Madrid. A public holiday in one city may be a normal working day in the other. Cala HQ gives each employee the relevant holiday calendar while managers can see how those dates affect the team’s availability.
From Berlin and Madrid to Warsaw, teams can now learn about Cala HQ in their own language. The company’s website is available in 24 languages, including German, Spanish, Polish, French, Portuguese, Italian and Latvian. The app interface currently supports English and Spanish.
Teams can choose fixed, accrued or unlimited leave policies and set rules for allowances and carrying unused days forward. Cala HQ has been available since January 2026. Its free plan covers up to five users, and getting started does not require a credit card.
The goal is simple: make the answer to “who’s off?” visible without pulling together updates from several places.
